The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua 5-Star Employees Honored

The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua named six people to their list of Five-Star Employees of the Year for 2018 from various departments throughout the property.

Honorees include: Reiko Abrew – Revenue; Dennis Austria – Housekeeping; Laura Fisher – Club Lounge; Pamela Elkind – Pool; Blake Brasseale – Finance; and Tami Bernades – Guest Relations.

A total of 210 employees were nominated over the course of 2018 with 24 quarterly winners who were considered for the Five-Star Employee of the Year recognition.

“We are so proud of each of the winners and nominees,” said Kevin Peterson, Hotel Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. “Each one of them has truly earned this honor through their hard work and dedication. They exemplify our best and brightest talent and serve as an inspiration to all other Ladies and Gentlemen.”

The nominees and winners were celebrated at a gala event last week hosted at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua by the Executive Team with a five-star menu created by the resort’s award winning culinary team.

“These Ladies and Gentlemen are the best of the best,” said Executive Chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Kenneth Sniffen. “They deserve a first class experience befitting of their five star performance. It was our pleasure to be part of this very special evening honoring their accomplishments.”

The Five-Star Recognition program was created to celebrate and recognize those employees that set the standard in the dedication to their work, positive attitude and overall best in class performance.

The hotel also congratulated the quarterly winners that earned this recognition throughout 2018 including:

First Quarter 2018 Winners: Isreal Valentine, Bartender; Elsa Quezada, Spa Attendant; Nelie Sioson, Public Area Attendant; Areli Medina, Banquets; Rochelle Bumagat, Rooms Control; and Reiko Abrew, Revenue Manager.

Second Quarter 2018 Winners: Liza Marie Arquines – Food and Beverage; Dennis Austria – Housekeeping; Richard Padua – Culinary; Sela Rosenthal – Finance; Rosa Wegner – Banquets; and Lawrence Wong – Food and Beverage.

Third Quarter 2018 Winners: Jana Arai – Food and Beverage; Teresita Aboy – Housekeeping; Laura Fisher – Club Lounge; Ronnie Maulit – Engineering; Ephraim Stevens – Pool Bar; and Zillah Lafey – Stewarding.

Fourth Quarter 2018 Winners: Meredith Manee – Executive Sous Chef; Ashley Pagano – Food & Beverage; Blake Brasseale – Finance; Tami Bernades – Guest Relations; Pamela Elkind – Pool; and Gary Gregson – Culinary.
