Baldwin Beach Park, Lahaina Aquatic Center Closed

Baldwin Beach Park remains closed due to flooding and muddy conditions in its access road, parking lot and pavilion, the Department of Parks and Recreation announced.

Parks staff began removing mud and debris Monday, and continued efforts today, but staff have postponed work due to lightning and heavy rain. County officials say clean-up will resume when the weather clears.

The Lahaina Aquatic Center is also closed today due to heavy rain. Lifeguards are unable to safely see the bottom of the pool, which prompted the closure in accordance with aquatic protocol.

Assessments of both Baldwin Beach Park and Lahaina Aquatic Center will be made prior to reopening.

The Department of Parks and Recreation thanks members of the public for their cooperation and apologizes for the inconvenience.
