Makai Glass Creations hosts a fundraiser on Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 3 to 6 p.m. to support the STEMworks AFTERschool Program at Kalama Intermediate School in Makawao.

The program focuses on engaging middle-school students in projects that include science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

This year, STEMworks is raising funds to enable students to attend the 10th annual Hawaiʻi STEM Conference, a statewide STEM conference on Oʻahu.

“Makai is very generous to host our fundraiser, which will include live music, live glassblowing, live auction and a silent auction,” said Karen Wright, site coordinator of Kalama’s STEMworks AFTERschool Program. “We are asking the community to support the silent auction by donating items. Items may include, but are not limited to gift certificates, merchandise, jewelry, artwork, etc.
