Kahoma Resident Critically Injured in Structure Fire

At 4:17 pm this afternoon, Maui firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire in Kahoma Valley. Firefighters from Lahaina and Napili responded.

On scene, crews found a small one story structure already burned to the ground.

A 47-year-old female resident was found to have sustained major burns to over 50% of her body. She was initially treated by firefighters and medics, then transported via Maui Medevac to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

Fire crews brought the fire under control at approximately 4:50 p.m.. The cause of this fire has been ruled accidental. Damages are estimated at $8,000 to the structure and its contents.
