Hearing For Man Accused of Sex Assault of Child
*Update (5/3/19): Both parties stipulate that defendant is unfit and suggest he be transported and committed to the state hospital. According to court records, at least one doctor has found the defendant to be unfit. In the meantime, bail has been set at $200,000 and a hearing has been continued to June 6, 2019 for the court to hear the status of two other doctor’s reports.
A man accused of breaking-in to a Kīhei home and sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl, is scheduled for a hearing on Maui today (Thursday, May 2, 2019).
Dalton Steuer, 24, of Haʻikū was charged for the offenses of first degree burglary and first degree sexual assault. He was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
The charges stem from an incident reported at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019.
A three panel examination has also been ordered.
