Maui Gas Prices Remain Stable
Maui gas prices in Kahului and Wailuku averaged $3.83 for regular. That’s a penny higher than last Thursday, 11 cents higher than last month and 15 cents lower than a year ago.
Gas prices stabilized throughout most of the islands in the past week, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch.
Today’s statewide average price is $3.63 a gallon, which is one cent higher than last Thursday, 13 cents higher than a month ago and the same price as on this date a year ago, according to AAA.
“The price of oil worldwide has been trending down for many days, and that may contributing to the smaller increases in gas prices locally,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaiʻi general manager. “However, gasoline demand remains robust looking toward the upcoming Memorial Day holiday. Motorists should continue to shop around for the best price, consolidate errands and remove excess items from the vehicle, excluding any spare tire, to maximize fuel efficiency.”
