Amanda Eller Discharged from Hospital, Recovering with Loved Ones

Amanda Eller has been discharged from Maui Memorial Medical Center, according to officials with Maui Health System.

Eller arrived at the hospital Friday afternoon, May 24, after being rescued in the dense forests of East Maui. She had been missing more than two weeks, since May 8, 2019.

She was quickly treated in the Emergency Department and assessed to be in fair condition, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Eller was admitted overnight for continued observation and discharged Saturday evening, May 25.

“We are thrilled to report the great news that Amanda Eller was able to leave the hospital on her own accord to continue her rehab and recovery with family and loved ones,” said Michael Rembis, CEO of Maui Health System. “The staff and physicians at Maui Memorial Medical Center involved in her treatment and care are rejoicing at the miraculous news of her great outcome.”
