Ask The Mayor: Any Update on the Pāʻia Bikeway?

Q: Is there any update on the Pāʻia bikeway project near Baldwin Beach Park? It looks like work has stopped. Thank you for your time and consideration.

A:  Mahalo for your question. Our Department of Public Works reported that the North Shore Greenway, Phase IV project between Ulupua Place and Baldwin Park has been delayed due to an unexpected waterline issue beneath the new bridge structure.

The Department is currently coordinating revisions to the bridge abutments with the Department of Water Supply to best accommodate the existing waterline without causing disruption to existing water service to the Pāʻia area.
