Maui police are looking into a vandalism at the Upcountry Pool in Pukalani.
On May 26 county parks workers found the rolling pool cover dumped into the pool along with a lifeguard tower. Prior to this incident on May 23 parks staff discovered the pool covers had been cut up into pieces, estimated at around $6,000 in damage.
At the time of the two incidents the Upcountry pool was closed for renovations, which began back in Dec. 2018. The pool reopened over the weekend on June 1st.
