The County of Maui, Department of Public Works will lead a Shoreline Cleanup Event in celebration of World Ocean’s Day from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Pāʻia Bay.

This event is keiki friendly and family participation is welcomed. Clean up supplies will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle and gloves. Cleanup participants also will have a chance to win passes to Maui Ocean Center and other giveaways.

Carpooling is encouraged due to limited free public parking available in Pāʻia Town. Volunteers may also utilize paid parking areas on Baldwin Avenue.

World Ocean’s Day is an annual celebration of the ocean, its importance to our lives and how each of us can protect it and make a difference. This year’s theme is “Together We Can,” and the County of Maui is collaborating with Pacific Whale Foundation and the state Department of Transportation Maui District to host the community cleanup at Pāʻia Bay.
