Presentation: “Is Medical Cannabis Right For You?”
Medical cannabis researcher and author Michael Backes returns to Maui for a Lunch & Learn presentation entitled “Is Medical Cannabis Right for You,”from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 15, at the Leis Family Class Act Restaurant, on the second floor of the Pāʻina Building at UH Maui College, 310 Kaʻahumanu Avenue in Kahului.
This presentation is designed for individuals considering medical cannabis therapy for themselves or a loved one. Backes will explain use in managing symptoms of health conditions and/or treatment side effects. He will discuss alternatives to smoking, proper dosing, and how to select products based on ratios of therapeutic plant compounds including the proper use of CBD products. He will also discuss conditions that qualify patients to use cannabis in Hawaiʻi. The final 30 minutes will be reserved for participant questions.
A $20 registration fee includes a hot buffet lunch and class materials.
Michael Backes is the author of Cannabis Pharmacy: The Practical Guide to Medical Marijuana and founded Cornerstone Research Collective. He also serves as Curriculum and Training advisor for Maui Grown Therapies in Kahului and is a member of their Science and Medical Advisory Board.
