Maui Gas Prices Experience Slight Dip
Maui gas prices in Kahului and Wailuku averaged $3.83 for regular. That’s one cent lower than last Thursday, the same price as last month and 19 cents lower than a year ago.
Gas prices experienced slight price declines throughout the islands in the last week, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch.
Today’s statewide average price is $3.64 a gallon, which is one cent lower than last Thursday, one cent higher than a month ago and eight cents lower than a year ago according to AAA.
“The Energy Information Administration’s weekly report showed that West Coast gasoline stocks increased by approximately 1.3 million barrels from the previous week and now sit at 28.4 million barrels. The current level is 3 million barrels less than last year’s level at this time, which could cause prices to see moderate increases if any supply challenges occur in the region,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaiʻi general manager.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular is $3.53, which is unchanged since last Thursday, two cents higher than on this date a month ago and six cents lower than on this date last year.
The Hilo average price is $3.72, which is down two cents from last Thursday, the same price as on this date last month and two cents lower than on this date a year ago.
Līhuʻe’s average price for regular is $3.83, which is two cents lower than last Thursday, one cent lower than on this date last month and five cents lower than a year ago today.
