The Korean War Veterans Association of Maui Nō Ka ʻOi 282 Chapter hosted an annual candlelight service to honor Korean War veterans and their families.
The service was held on Tuesday night, June 25, 2019 at the War Memorial Gymnasium in Wailuku.
County authorities say the service pays homage to all the Maui County veterans who were killed or went missing in action in Korea. “Our freedom is due to your selflessness and bravery, and we will never forget the sacrifices you made. Mahalo a nui loa,” County officials said in a Facebook post.
