A blessing was held on Monday for the newly completed 40-unit residential workforce housing development in Kīhei. The Kalama Kai project is located 200 feet from the beach on Kanani Road and features mostly three-bedroom units, totaling 844 square feet each.
Kalama Kai’s three-bedroom units have an open living/dining area and a 63-square-foot lānai. The lone one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit is 560 square feet. Many units have ocean views.
The project was constructed by Armstrong Development and also features a swimming pool, barbecue area and several freestanding carports with an array of photovoltaic panels. The technology was incorporated into the project to harness Maui’s sun and offset common area energy costs.
