Hawaiʻi Gas Prices Stable This Summer
The Honolulu gas price average stands at $3.53 a gallon for the fourth straight week and prices throughout the islands have also remained remarkably stable this summer, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch.
Today’s statewide average price is $3.66 a gallon, which is a penny higher than last Thursday, two cents higher than a month ago and 12 cents lower than on this date a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
“Gas prices have barely budged since rising by about 40 cents from their 2019 lowest point in February,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaiʻi general manager. “But drivers can still save money on gas by taking advantage of discount programs such as the one offered to AAA members at Shell stations, which is available by signing up at AAA.com/Shell.”
In Kahului, the average price is $3.84, which is unchanged from last Thursday, one cent higher than on this date last month and 25 cents lower than on this date a year ago. Līhue’s average price for regular is $3.84, which is one cent higher than last Thursday, unchanged from this date last month and 13 cents lower than a year ago today.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular is $3.53, which is unchanged for the week, a cent higher than a month ago and ten cents lower than on this date last year. The Hilo average price is $3.78, which is up two cents from last Thursday, three cents more than on this date last month and eight cents lower than on this date a year ago.
