Road Paving on Kaluanui Road to Impact Traffic

A portion of Kaluanui Road in Makawao will be fully closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday Aug. 26 to Thursday, Aug. 29 and again from Wednesday, Sept. 4 to Friday, Sept. 13 for an in-house road preservation project.

The County of Maui Department of Public Works announced the project saying hot mix paving will affect Kaluanui Road from Kokomo Road to Baldwin Avenue. Traffic will need to be detoured around the work area.

Motorists are asked to drive with extra caution in the area and to plan more time to reach their destination. Department officials apologized for any inconvenience.
