Maui Soil & Water Conservation Photo and Poster Entry Forms Available
The Maui Soil & Water Conservation Districts is hosting its first annual Conservation Photo Contest, and the return of the Conservation Poster Contest at the Maui Fair.
The Conservation Photo Contest is open to all amateur photographers who reside in Hawaiʻi.
Contestants can enter as many as five photos that each fit into one of the following four categories:
- Conservation Practices,
- Close-up Conservation,
- Conservation in Action, or
- Agriculture and Conservation Across America.
One winner will be selected for each category and age division. The winning photos will advance to the National Association of Conservation Districts photo contest.
The theme for the 2019 Conservation Poster Contest is Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper. The contest is open to public, private, and home-schooled students’ kindergarten through twelfth grade (category: K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12). Artwork will be judged by the Maui Soil & Water Conservation Districts. The winning entry will be advanced to the state competition, and possibly nationally.
Entry forms, rules, and judging criteria can be found at www.MauiFair.com in the Horticulture Section. The deadline to enter both contests is Sept. 27, 2019.
