Kahului residents can expect low water pressure and possibly no water overnight due to valve replacements.

According to the Department of Water Supply, personnel will be replacing broken valves on Kaʻahumanu and Lono Avenues from 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1 to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019.

The department advises that all customers south and east of Queen Kaʻahumanu Shopping Center in Kahului are expected to have low water pressure or no water during these times.

These areas include residents and businesses from Lono Avenue to Kahului Airport, Hoʻokele Street, South Wākea Avenue, and Kaʻahumanu Avenue.

Lono Avenue to Kamehameha Avenue will be closed for the project. The intersection of Kaʻahumanu Avenue and Lono Avenue will be restricted to one lane of traffic.

Traffic control will be provided to detour motorists from work areas.
