Hawai‘i Gas Prices Inch Down

In Kahului, the average price is $3.85, which is two cents lower than last Thursday, one cent higher than a month ago and 28 cents lower than on this date a year ago.
Gas prices in many areas inched downward in the last week, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price is $3.67 a gallon, which is one cent lower than last Thursday, one cent higher than a month ago and 19 cents lower than on this date a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
In Kahului, the average price is $3.85, which is two cents lower than last Thursday, one cent higher than a month ago and 28 cents lower than on this date a year ago.
“It’s too soon to tell if this is a downward trend for Hawaiʻi gas prices that we would expect to happen at this time of year when demand typically drops,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaiʻi general manager.
Gas prices in other locations across the state include the following:
- In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular is $3.55, which is the same as last week, one cent higher than a month ago and 17 cents lower than on this date last year.
- The Hilo average price is $3.78, which is two cents lower than last Thursday, unchanged from this date last month and 16 cents lower than on this date a year ago.
- Līhue’s average price for regular is $3.87, which is one cent lower than last Thursday, four cents higher than last month and 18 cents lower than a year ago today.
