Hawaiʻi is among the top 25 states leading the charge on renewable energy, according to a new study compiled by finance website, SmartAsset.

Hawaiʻi was tied at 14th place on the list, aside Vermont, with California earning top honors.

The survey analyzed seven metrics including the five-year change in CO2 emissions, renewable energy as a percent of total energy production and the number of policies and incentives that support renewable energy and energy efficiency.
