James Yip Chow Jr., 64 of Makawao, passed away on October 13, 2019 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on August 8, 1955 in Wailuku.

James is survived by his best friend, Carmelita Cravalho; son, Richard (Helene) Cravalho; daughters, Denise (Preston) Conner, Jaimie (Keoni) Dukelow, grandchildren, Allen Prest Jr. (Kyla), Logan Prest, Ikaika Prest, Kapualoke Dukelow, Manny Dukelow; nephew, Wyatt Freitas; brother in law, Philibert Freitas along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, James and Audrey Yip Chow Sr.; sister, Ferrene Yip Chow; great grand-daughter, Briana Prest.

Blossom Puanani Peralta, 70, of Waikapu, Maui, passed away peacefully on October 09, 2019 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on August 10, 1949, in Wailuku, Maui.

Blossom retired from Maui Memorial Medical Center as a Housekeeper.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service will begin at 5:00 p.m. and cremation will follow.

Blossom is survived by her daughter, Desiree “Kanoe” Visaya (Gregory Jr.); Siblings, Ephraim Kaaihue, George Hoopai (Kylie Rae), Rosemary Golis (Fernando), Beverly Kanani Domingo (Alex “deceased”), Jo Ann Peralta, and Marlene Peralta; Grandchildren, Ashley Taylor Peralta, Shanti Rae Visaya, Hailey Ryann Visaya, Kory Joshua Visaya, and Randy Nicholas Visaya.

She is predeceased by her parents, Primitivo and Mary “Malia” Peralta; Brothers, Primo Peralta Jr, Randy Peralta, Kenneth Kalei Hoopai Jr.

Richard Donald DeCoite, 80 of Makawao, Maui, peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. He was born in Paia, Hawaii on February 21, 1939.

Richard was a retired Rancher and loved to dance, he was the life of the party.  Although Richard is no longer here, he will continue to live in the hearts of his loving wife, Susie DeCoite; Daughters: Sandy Chung and Nan (Tony) Amaral; Son: Donald (Angela) DeCoite:  Grandchildren: Kawailani (Joerod), Cody Amaral, Wailani (Chance) Valle, Kaysha (Jordan), Caylynn, Cade, Calia, Kash, River & Ocean;
Great-grandchildren: Nalu, Kaimana, Cain, Kaikane, Achilles, Karli-Rose & Ares. Brothers: Paul DeCoite, Charles DeCoite; Sisters: Sister Maria Goretti, Bernadette Franco, Agnes Fernandez, Ann Cravalho, Donna Chong. Predeceased by Parents; Joseph & Lillian, Brothers; Joseph, Bernard, Anthony, Kenneth, George, Thomas, James and Peter DeCoite; Sister: Marion Meyers, Phyllis Abreu.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Church with visitation to start at 9:00 am and Mass to begin at 11:00 a.m.

April 12, 1921 – October 7, 2019

Julia Aguinaldo Cadiz, 98 of Wailuku, Maui passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 7, 2019 under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on April 12, 1921 in Bacarra, Philippines to the late Anecito and Cecelia Aguinaldo.

Upon coming to Hawaii, Julia worked as a housekeeper, baker, cannery worker and eventually retired as a field worker for Wailuku Sugar Company. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and most of all babysitting. She enjoyed caring for her family and watching the babies grow.

She is survived by her daughters, Irene (Tony-deceased) Luna, Matilda (Eugene-deceased) Baybado, Lucille Dugay; sons, Dino Cadiz, Robert Dugay, Albert (Verlene) Dugay; son-in-law Rey (Vicky-deceased) Pagatpatan Sr.; stepdaughters, Angelita (Eleterio) Balualua, Magdalena (Flor-deceased) Ramos, and Leonida (Senecio) Bacsa. She leaves behind 26 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband Gaudencio Cadiz; siblings, Aurelio Aguinaldo, Filomino (Charlene) Aguinaldo, and Esperanza (William-deceased) Asuncion.

Memorial services to honor her blessed 98 years of life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Norman’s Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with prayer service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial to be held at Maui Memorial Park on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. in the main cemetery.
