Dairy Queen Orange Julius in Lahaina Closed After 20 YearsOctober 30, 2019, 6:59 AM HST · Updated October 30, 11:36 AM 0 Comments
Dairy Queen Orange Julius at the Lahaina Cannery Mall announced its closure yesterday via social media saying effective Oct. 29th, it’s West Maui location would be closing after 20 years.
“After 20 years of serving delicious treats, snacks and DQ cakes to our friends and family in Maui, we must say Aloha,” the company Instagram and Facebook accounts stated.
The post indicated that it was no longer “financially feasible” to operate at the location. “We have done our best to work with the mall on a solution. The operating costs at the mall have become too high for the number of customers in the mall.”
The message went on to thank the community for their support over the years.
“We have enjoyed every smile, laugh and conversation. Thank you to all our staff over the past 20 years. It has been a joy to watch you grow, learn and improve your lives. Thank you to our suppliers for helping us with the raw ingredients to make our delicious treats.”
The message indicates that the company will continue to look for opportunities on Maui, but encourages those wanting to feed their “DQ craving” to visit one of seven locations still in operation on Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island.
“We will miss the Lahaina DQ ʻohana. We look forward to our paths crossing again in the future… Until then, Aloha ʻOe Lahaina.”
