The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Watch for Maui County until late tonight.

“An upper level low will remain stationary over the western portion of the island chain tonight before moving east. This will produce unstable conditions across the state, bringing the potential for locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding,” according to the NWS.

As a precaution, the public us asked to continue to monitor the weather forecast and be prepared to take immediate action if Flash Flood Warnings are issued.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised not to cross fast flowing water in their vehicle or on foot.  Campers and hikers should reschedule their outing to a time when weather is expected to be more favorable.
