Curtis Jarnesky

Curtis Jarnesky

August 19, 1952 – November 19, 2019

Curtis Rudolph Jarnesky, 67, of Wailuku, Maui passed away on Nov. 19, 2019 under the care of Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Pu’unēnē, Maui on Aug. 19, 1952 to the late John G. Jarnesky and Ann Jarnesky Garcia.Although he is no longer with us, he will be remembered in the hearts of his wife, Trisha Jarnesky; children, Brad C. Jarnesky (Brinelle), Ashley Jarnesky (Mono); siblings, Diane Pacheco (Joseph), John Gilbert Jarnesky Jr., Stephanie Jarnesky (Cliff), Rodney Jarnesky (Ivy), Gwendolyn Jarnesky (Dennis); 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.A Memorial Service will be held at Christ the King Church on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019. Friends and Loved Ones are welcome to join Curtis’s family in remembering his life at 9 a.m. with Mass to begin at 11 a.m.

Daynah Kealoha 

Daynah Kealoha, 58, of Wailuku, Maui passed away on Nov. 23, 2019, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on June 27, 1961, in Honolulu.

Daynah was predeceased by her parents, Oliver & Winona Kealoha, Jr.; and siblings, Oliver “Mike” Kealoha, Doris Nelson and Allison Castro. She is survived by her husband, Dwight Parilla; son, Dwight (Christina) Parilla, Jr.; siblings, Joyce (Frank) Castro, Jason Tengan, Paiea (Pualeilani) Kamahoahoa; and granddaughter, Amanda Keala Parilla.

Eugene Kuszajewski

December 26, 1936 – November 24, 2019

Eugene L. Kuszajewski passed in peace in Wailuku, Hawaii, under hospice care on Nov. 24, 2019 at the age of 82. He was born Dec. 26, 1936 in Detroit, MI, resided in Alpena, MI for over 50 years. He moved to Maui, Hawaii after retirement and has lived there for the past 15 years. He served in the Air Force (1959-63) and had a lifelong career working for Alpena Telephone Company. In his later years he enjoyed golfing, reading, and cooking and also excelled in mechanical work. He is survived by one sister, Bernadine Klimaszewski, 2 sons, Kent and Eric, and 1 daughter, Tamyra Freeman, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Genevieve, his wife, Susan, and 2 brothers, Richard and Dennis. There will be a prayer service on Dec. 23, 2019 at the Ballard Funeral home from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to St. Rita’s church in Haʻikū, Hawaiʻi

Shinobu Toba

March 20, 1927 – December 1, 2019

Shinobu Toba, 92 of Kahului, passed away on Dec. 1, 2019 at her residence. She was born on March 20, 1927 in Hilo, HI.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020 at Ballard Family Mortuary, service 11 a.m., and urn burial at 2 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park, Main Cemetery.

Shinobu is survived by her daughters, Clarice (Brad) Martin, and Elise (LarryJr.) Linney; sister, Sachiko Ogi; and grandchildren, Keilani and Chris Martin, Morgan and Madison Linney.
