The county Urban Design and Review Board is seeking candidates for its five open positions.

The board is responsible for advising the planning department on design related matters involving projects throughout the county.

Duties also include hearing public testimony, reviewing policies and standards.

The open positions include two regular and three alternates.

One of the two regular positions requires an architect, while the other will go to a land architect. The three alternate positions will be given to two architects and one land architect.

The panel also has specific qualification requirements for some of its members.

  • Positions are appointed by the Mayor, confirmed by the Maui County Council and have terms lasting two to five years.
  • No monetary compensation is provided for serving on the board.

Anyone interested in serving on any board or commission should first apply online, or contact community liaison Gladys Baisa in the Office of the Mayor by calling 270-8211 or emailing [email protected].
