A groundbreaking ceremony for the Kula Park Playground takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
Following the groundbreaking, a portion of the park will be closed to the public until Oct. 30, 2020, for the construction of the New Kula Park Playground project. The project will include the installation of new playground equipment, fall surfacing, and an ADA accessible pathway connecting the upper parking lot to the restroom and playground areas.
“We are very excited about this new project for our Upcountry keiki,” said Parks Director Karla Peters. “Our mission is to provide safe, satisfying and cost effective recreational opportunities for our residents and visitors, and this new playground will be a welcomed addition to Kula Park.”
The event is open to the public and located at the park on Calasa Road and Kula Highway.
The Department asks the public to please remain outside of construction area barriers for safety precautions and apologizes for any inconvenience.
