Nancy Jean Vincent, 77 of Kahului, Passed away on Jan. 10, 2020 under the compassionate care at Hospice Hale.
She was born in Honolulu, on May 30, 1942 To William Ana and Mary Aki. Nancy was a Custodian for The State of Hawaiʻi.
Graveside service will be held at Mililani Mortuary on Monday Feb. 3, 2020 at 11 a.m.
She is predeceased by Her Husband Andrew Vincent; Survived by her children; Blossom J. Flores (Calvin), Mae M. Fujimoto (Glenn), David K. Arcilla (Vicky), Miriam H. Corpuz (Randall); Grandchildren Daniel Arcilla (Jamie), Micah Fujimoto, Mara Fujimoto (Chad), Genesis Purdy (Kepuhi), Denice Arcilla, Nathan Fujimoto (Keisha), Jonathan Flores (Kalicia), Ikaika Fujimoto (Quincy), Jessica Flores (Kevin), Analu Fujimoto, Hauoli Corpuz (Brian), Kalei Flores, Sara Corpuz, Randall Corpuz, and Malia Flores (JD); Predeceased by her 14 siblings; William Kalei Ana Jr, John H. Ana, Phillip Ana, Richard Ana, Gene A. Ana; Annabelle Ana Brown Hood, Ellen Ana Baker, Mary N. Ana Kaohe, May N. Ana Ballard, Emily Ana Kahalekulu, Miriam M. Ana Tong, Dolly Ana Papke, Luella Ana Nahinu, and Shirley C. Ana Haanio. 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Marie Elaban, 88, of Kapolei, Hawaiʻi, formerly of Maui, was born on Dec. 25, 1931 in Wailuku. She passed away on Jan. 13, 2020 at Kaiser Hospital on Oʻahu.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at Ballard Family Mortuary Kahului; prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at Christ the King Church in Kahului; mass will begin at 10 a.m.; burial will follow, 1 p.m., at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao. Family requests aloha attire.
Mary worked at Moana Surfrider Hotel, Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel, Royal Lahaina Hotel in fine Jewelry Sales and retired from Maui Tropical Plantation. She was married to Peter Elaban (deceased) and together they have 9 Children; Joyce Ilima Elaban Unciano of Oahu, Dennis Elaban of Oahu, Derek Elaban of Oahu, Chubby Elaban Greene of Maui, Iris Elaban Sanchez of Oahu, Terry Elaban of Maui, Penny Elaban-North of Maui, Bully Elaban of Oahu, Avanell Elaban Hamilton of Oahu; Siblings, George Castillo of Oahu, Henrietta Sagabaen of Maui, Sheila Ann DeMello of Maui; 33 Grandchildren, 81 Great Grandchildren; and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Leone “Miss P” Mary-Ann Leinani Purugganan
November 18, 1940 – January 19, 2020
Leone Mary-Ann Leinani Purugganan, 79, of Wailuku, Maui, peacefully passed away on January 19, 2020, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on November 18, 1940, in Wailuku to Manuela “Manuela Boy” Rodrigues and Josephine Mary-Ann Kuloloia Canto, both predeceased.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. with service to follow at 8 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kahului Hawaii Stake located at 125 W. Kamehameha Ave in Kahului.
The burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao followed by lunch at the church in Kahului.
Leone, also known as “Miss P,” was a retired Recreation Leader at the County of Maui Parks & Recreation Department where she spent most of her years serving the youth in the after school and summer fun programs. Leone loved arts & crafts, singing karaoke, and enjoying time with family. She was also a member of the Central Maui Hawaiian Civic Club.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Purugganan; her daughter, Leila (Francis) Maddela; her son, Lyle (Karen) Purugganan and her grandchildren, Isaiah, Leah, Levi, Kalena, and Kawai. She is also survived by her brother, Rodney (Betty) Rodrigues; sister, Darlene “Lani” Canto; and nieces, Ediann (Ernie) Sanchez, Johnlyn Rodrigues (predeceased), Ronnette (Jerry) Painter, and Rynee “Aka” (David) Bukoski along with their children.
May 4, 1948 – January 20, 2020
Michael Calvin Carey, 71, of Lahaina Town, Hawai’i, passed away on Jan. 20, 2020. He was born on May 4, 1948 in Long Beach, CA and was raised in Manhattan Beach, CA. Michael was a graduate of San Diego State University where he lettered in Volleyball and was also an avid Beach Volleyball player and is considered one of the legends of the sport.
Michael was a retired Real Estate Agent who truly believed in the sentiment of Maui nō ka ‘oi. He also spent many years working with friends and family at the Hula Grill where he was affectionately known as ‘Coach’. While in college, Michael worked at the Chart House Restaurant in San Diego, CA and later managed the Chart House Restaurants in Lahaina, HI and Aspen, CO.
Michael is survived by his children, Jennifer Carey Springer (Scott), Stephanie Jean Carey, Justine Lee Coull (Alasdair), Matthew Calvin Carey; brother, Tim Carey (Kim); sister, Teresa Veria-Means; and 6 beautiful grandchildren, Danielle, Emily, Joshua, Theo, William, and Elspeth.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 5 p.m. till sunset at Black Rock Beach in Kāʻanapali, HI.

Jayven-William Kaikaimaikalanimaikeahi Pagay, of Wailuku, Maui passed away peacefully on Jan. 18, 2020. He Was born on Oct. 20, 2018 in Honolulu.
Jayven-William is Survived by his Parents Jonathan Pagay and Kealohilani Tomas; Sisters Zayda-Rose and Alyssa-Cherise; Grandparents Laurie Ann Tomas, Derrick Hicks, Frankie and Caryn Pagay.; Aunty Mama.
