Maui United Way Welcomes New Board Members

Maui United Way (MUW) recently announced the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors, as well as a full slate of officers and board members for 2020.

Joining the Board of Directors are Shawn Donlin, Lalaine Manlapao, Lisa Paulson and Simon Poole.

“All four of our newest Board members embody the spirit of community and bring talent, expertise and energy to the table. We are very fortunate to have them by our side as we continue to serve the community” chief professional officer Nicholas Winfrey said in a press release.

Shawn Donlin is the area manager at Enterprise Holdings overseeing the Maui and Molokai locations.  He is originally from Oahu but an excellent career opportunity brought him to Maui.  He’s excited to join the Maui United Way board to be able to make an impact for those in Maui County.  He believes we are all better when we are able to strengthen the communities around us, and joining the MUW team will be an amazing chance to help foster that change.

Lalaine Manlapao is originally from Maui but worked on Oahu for the past 18 years. She is the Assistant VP & Banking Officer for First Hawaiian Bank and recently graduated with her MBA in July 2017 from UH Manoa international executive program out of Vietnam. She believes that a board that is able to supplement each other to obtain a better outcome is key. During her free time, you can find her out in the ocean surfing with her family.

Lisa Paulson has lived on Maui for 25 years with her family. She is currently the Director of Strategic Communications for Maui Health and has been driving strategic growth and visibility for nonprofit and for-profit organizations for the last 22 years. Prior to her position at Maui Health she worked for Maui Hotel & Lodging, Jones Lange LaSalle, General Growth Properties, A&B and Kapalua Resorts. A believer in contributing to the community you live in – she has worked with many of Maui’s nonprofits, such as Malama I Ke Ola Health Center, Hui No’eau, MEDB, Maui OnStage, Book Trust Maui, Maui Academy of Performing Arts, & Maui Humane Society. Her experience is in marketing, public relations, statistical analysis, partnership building and fundraising.

Simon Poole has been with Goodfellow Bros. Inc. for nearly two years. Prior to that he was with numerous companies including a not for profit that helped with student assistance as their COO and EVP for over 10 years.  Simon has a strong focus on strategic development and background in the operations side of nonprofits.
