Maxima Manuel

November 16, 1925 – January 23, 2020

Maxima Domingo Manuel, 94, of Haliimaile, Maui peacefully passed away on Jan. 23, 2020 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on November 16, 1925 in Banna, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines to Urbano Domingo and Timotea Lucas. She was a field laborer for Maui Land & Pineapple until her retirement in 1987. Maxima lived a full and happy life. She enjoyed traveling, participating in senior programs and most especially attending church. She loved the Lord and sang her favorite medleys until the very end. Maxima was kind, humble and genuine. She loved people and lit up an entire room with her friendly smile. She exemplified a true woman of grace throughout her life. A Celebration of Life will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 with visitation at 6 p.m. and service at 7 p.m. and the Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 at 10 a.m. with service at 10:30 a.m.

A luncheon will follow. Burial at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku will take place at 2 p.m.

She is predeceased by her husband Eulalio and her siblings Alejandra, Mercedes and Patricio. Maxima will be lovingly remembered by her children: Anita (Angel Jr.) Manuel, Kenneth (Carol Ann) Manuel, Jackie (Darrell) Tanaka. Her precious Grandchildren: Darrell (Jody Ann), Cliff ord (Wendi), Ruby Jane, Honesty, Israel; Great-grandchildren: Jarin and Shanni and Great-great grandchild: Nalani. To our family and friends, our heartfelt appreciation for the love and support you have shown our family through the years. Our parents are finally together again in heaven – smiling, holding hands, dancing and rejoicing!

Benjamin Pahukoa

Benjamin Pahukoa

March 20, 1974 – January 26, 2020

Benjamin Taua Mitchell Pahukoa, 45, of Ke’anae, passed away on Jan. 26, 2020.

A celebration of Life will begin at 8am on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Ke’anae Church. Burial will follow.

Taua Pahukoa was born in Ke’anae to Harry K. Pahukoa Jr. and Pearl Pahukoa on March 20 1974. He graduated from Hana High School. He is survived by his mother, Pearl, brothers and sisters, Leonani (Hymie) Meyer, Harry “Bobo”, JD (Stacey) Pahukoa, Leimomi (Samuel) Holi.

Mahalo nui for your thoughts and prayers, may his laugh echo through your heart. He was our genealogist, Hawaiian Man, and our Tutu Meleana’s 50th grandchild. His legacy is perpetuated by his many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, nephews and mo’opuna.

Manuel “Bully” Gomes

July 29, 1940 – January 27, 2020

Manuel “Bully” Gomes Jr., 79, of Kihei, Maui, passed away on January 27, 2020 at Hospice Maui Hale. He was born on July 29, 1940, in Puunene.

He was a Heavy Equipment Operator.

Visitation will be held 9am-10 am service begins 10:00 am at Ballard Family Mortuary on Wednesday February 5, 2020. Burial will be held at 12:30 pm at Maui Memorial Park

Manuel is survived by his Children; Kevin Gomes, Shawn Gomes, Roxanne Gomes, Shannon Rezentes, and Piilani Fong; Brother, Steven Gomes; 9 Grandchildren.
