Public Invited to Free Showing of ʻAbominableʻ
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will be hosting a free screening of the animated film “Abominable.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a low-back beach chair and/or blanket to enjoy the movie on the A&B Amphitheater lawn.
The event will also include live pre-show entertainment with Loren Tilley and Mike Guzalak, as well as a free keiki art activity.
Food and beverages from Da Nani Pirates, Star Anise, Sumo Dogs, The Corn Project, and Grandpa Joe’s Candy Co. will be available.
If the weather is inclement, the movie will still be shown in Castle Theater; seating is first come/first seated.
No coolers or outside food/beverages allowed.
The showing will be held on Feb. 21. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the film is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
About the film:
“When teenage Yi (Chloe Bennet, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai, she and her mischievous friends, Jin (Tenzing Norgay Trainor) and Peng (Albert Tsai), name him “Everest” and embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth. But the trio of friends will have to stay one step ahead of Burnish (Eddie Izzard), a wealthy man intent on capturing a Yeti, and zoologist Dr. Zara (Sarah Paulson) to help Everest get home.”
The film is rated PG and has a running time of 97 minutes.
