UPDATE: Victim in Lahaina Assault Dies, Case Reclassified to Murder
Heather Glennon, 46, of Lahaina. PC: Maui Police Department.A Lahaina woman was formally charged with second degree murder after the victim in an alleged assault reported over the weekend, died of injuries sustained in the incident.
Police say Heather Glennon, 46, was being held in lieu of $500,000 and remained in police custody at last report.
The 51-year-old male victim in the case died on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020. Police have yet to release his identity saying next of kin notification is pending. The investigation is ongoing.
The charges stem from an assault reported at 7:23 p.m. on Sunday night, Feb. 2, 2020 at 885 Waineeʻe Street in West Maui.
According to police reports, responding officers found the victim lying on the ground with injuries.
Glennon was observed walking in and out of traffic within the middle of the roadway, police said. According to police reports, the woman was reportedly observed screaming at passing cars and refused to get out of the roadway prior to police arrival.
Police say the suspect was accused of physically assaulting the male victim.
