In response to growing concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, the Haʻikū Hoʻolauleʻa and Flower Festival, which was set for April 25, has been canceled.

“After taking into account hours of discussion with Haiku School, Haiku Community Association, the HHFF committee as well as others with vested interest, I have decided to CANCEL the upcoming Haiku Ho’olaule’a and Flower festival,” a press release from the event committee read.

“After all the discussion, I believe we are making the right choice in hard times. Thank you everyone for your input and thoughts…I have taken all of it into consideration with making this tough decision. A sincere thank you goes out to everyone who has put time into the planning of this event up until now…The Ha’ikū Community is strong and we will make it through this unprecedented and challenging time.”
