The Old Lahaina Lūʻau is temporarily closing its lūʻau event starting March 18, 2020 due to precautions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision to suspend the lūʻau also takes into consideration measures recommended by federal, state, and county officials to cancel or postpone events with large gatherings of people through the end of the month.

The sales staff will refund all confirmed and paid reservations during this period (March 18 to 31, 2020).

“The health and safety of our guests, employees and communities are our utmost priority,” said Kawika Freitas, Director of Public & Cultural Relations at the Old Lahaina Lūʻau.

“We are optimistic that joining other businesses in our state to comply with the recommendations set by government and health experts will allow us to better control the spread of this virus. We regret the dire choices we have had to make, including the interruption of vacations and the postponement of plans that mean so much to so many. We thank you for your understanding and we look forward to hosting both visitors and residents to our lūʻau in the near future,” said Freitas.
