Kepaniwai Park at ʻĪao Valley is closed until further notice for cleaning and maintenance, according to a county notice issued on Wednesday afternoon.

A sign was placed at the entrance of ʻĪao Valley Road indicating the park closure.

Any traffic attempting to get into the valley is being turned around at the bridge.

Several demonstrators were also observed at the Valley entrance expressing concerns over continued tourist presence amid growing community restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
