Maui Crime March 8 – March 15: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 7 burglaries, 5 vehicle thefts and 9 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from March 8 to March 15, 2020.

Burglaries were down 42 percent from the week before, when 12 incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 38 percent from the week before when 8 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins increased 13 percent from the previous week, when 8 incidents were reported.

7 Burglaries

Kāʻanapali: 

  • Monday, March 9, 1:17 p.m.: 180 Nohea Kai Dr., Kāʻanapali at the Hyatt Residence Club. Non-residential, forced entry
  • Monday, March 9, 7:50 p.m.: 2435 Kāʻanapali Pkwy, Kāʻanapali at Whalers Village. Non-residential, forced entry

Kahului:

  • Sunday, March 8, 10:31 a.m.: 310 Kaʻahumanu Ave., Kahului at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College campus. Non-residential, forced entry.

Kaunakakai: 

  • Saturday, March 14, 8:26 p.m.: 5700 Block of Kamehameha Highway, Kaunakakai. Residential, unlawful entry.

  • Wednesday, March 11, 8:28 a.m.: 851 S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei at Paradise Gardens Apartments. Non-residential, forced entry.

Pāʻia: 

  • Friday, March 13, 9:15 a.m.: 600 Block of Loina Place, Pāʻia. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Wailuku: 

  • Wednesday, March 11, 9:07 a.m.: 355 S High St., Wailuku at Wailuku Elementary School. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Haʻikū: 

  • Thursday, March 12, 8:19 a.m.: 200 Block of Kaokoa Way, Haʻikū. Ford, grey.

Kāʻanapali: 

  • Monday, March 9, 10:35 p.m.: 130 Kai Malina Pkwy., Kāʻanapali at Honua Kai Resort and Spa south tower/main tower. Kia, red.
