Saturday Drive Thru at Mulligans On The Blue Serves 180 Meals to Those in Need
Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea served 180 breakfasts to those in need during a two hour drive thru event on Saturday morning.
Restaurant owner Mike O’Dwyer said, “Our food suppliers have been very good to us, especially Sysco in giving us reduced priced groceries when they can; and we love paying it forward.”
The drive thru site was set up at the old golf bag drop off, so motorists were able to stay within their vehicles.
The breakfast included Irish sausages, scrambled eggs and Irish potatoes with waffles and muffins.
O’Dwyer tells Maui Now that he plans to continue the service every Saturday while they are able. He said he is open to donations to enable a larger operation and likes the idea of people using the service to pick up breakfast for home-bound individuals.
Patron Kevin J Olson was among those who stopped by to pick up a plate, which he in turn paid forward by delivering it to his elderly neighbor in Kīhei.
During regular business hours, the restaurant is promoting its “Drive Thru OnDemand” app which allows people to order food and not leave their vehicle. Orders can also be made via phone at 874-1131.
The restaurant also now has its favorite traditional Irish Stew now available in three sizes and prices ranging from $10 for the small that feeds 1-2 people to $30 for the large that feeds 5-6.
