Maui Bus to Suspend 2 Additional Routes

Effective Friday, May 1, 2020, the County of Maui Department of Transportation is suspending two additional Maui Bus commuter routes because of substantial reductions in passenger demand caused by COVID-19.

The two newly suspended routes are:

  • Wailuku Kapalua No. 4
  • U-Haul-Wailea Commuter

The three previously suspended routes are:

  • Makawao-Kapalua Commuter
  • Kīhei-Kapalua
  • Wailuku-Kapalua Commuter No. 3.

Maui Bus commuter fares are $2 per boarding. Monthly passes are also available.

West Maui Islander temporary route changes: 

A culvert replacement project and road closure on Lower Honoapiʻilani Road in Nāpili will close four Maui Bus stops from Napili Plaza to Kapalua for approximately three months, the County of Maui Department of Transportation announced.

Beginning Wednesday, April 29, the following bus stops will not be in service:

  • Nāpili Shores (both sides).
  • Nāpili Kai.
  • Nāpili Village.
  • Kapalua Village.

The end of the route for the West Maui Islander will be at Nāpili Plaza. From there, the bus will head south, back into town. The stops heading back from Napili Plaza to Lahaina have been assigned new pick-up times.

Maui Bus general fares are $2 per boarding and $4 for a daily pass. Monthly passes are also available.
