Work has started on a project to upgrade and expand the Lānaʻi Community Center’s kitchen. The project will close the community center through February 2021.

“I ask for the community’s patience as this project gets underway,” Mayor Michael Victorino said in a press release announcement. “The Lānaʻi Community Center’s kitchen will be upgraded and expanded with new stainless steel appliances, counters and shelves, and all new fixtures and finishes. Improvements will also include a new propane tank, new grease interceptor and accessibility improvements to comply with the American with Disabilities Accessibility Guidelines.”

The Department of Parks and Recreation asks residents to stay outside the construction area for safety precautions.
