Kīhei Brush Fire Burns 1/4 Acre, Mop-Up Should Be Completed Shortly

A brush fire on the makai side of the Piʻilani Highway in Kīhei on Maui has burned an estimated quarter acre of brush since it was first reported at around 3:03 p.m. on Friday, May 8.
Fire officials say the brush fire is contained as of 3:30 p.m. and mop-up should be completed shortly.
Responding units include: Engine 6, Engine 14, Tanker 14 and Tanker 10.
Weather on scene includes winds of 10 to 15 mph.
