Bars and Theaters Get Green Light to Operate on O‘ahu Starting June 19
Governor David Ige last night approved Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s proposal to re-open designated indoor and outdoor businesses, including bars and theaters on Oʻahu.
The businesses will open with limitations starting on June 19.
The approval also includes the reopening of fitness facilities, museums, arcades and bowling alleys on Oʻahu–businesses that were classified as higher risk.
The designated businesses and operations must follow safety guidelines and conditions that ensure the safety of employees, clients and customers.
The order notes that indoor events involving more than 50 individuals is generally prohibited, regardless of whether the required physical distancing of 6 feet between separate gatherings is maintainable.
The signed Amendment is posted here.
