Water Shut-down in Makawao, Jan. 12

Water service will be shut-off for a portion of Makawao from approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 for water system upgrades.

ROJAC Construction, Inc. will perform work on the County’s water system on Ukiu Road, according to a County of Maui announcement.  Work includes a tie-in of a new water line to accommodate the water system upgrades at Makawao Elementary School.  

Areas to be affected will be along Baldwin Avenue, between Makawao Avenue and Hāliʻimaile Road; and the following streets:  ʻAʻala Place, Freitas Place, Ukiu Road (between Baldwin Avenue and Pahala Street), Kekahi Place, Kalua Place, Kekolu Street, Hemala Street, Pahala Street, Puana Street, Nakui Street, Puaʻina Place, Keʻe Road, and Kaluanui Road.  DWS customers along these roads are encouraged to store water and adjust schedules as appropriate.
