Maui Crime Dec. 20 – 26: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to six burglaries, 14 vehicle thefts and nine vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Dec. 20 to 26, 2020.

Burglaries decreased 40 percent from the week before when 10 incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts increased 100 percent from the week before when seven incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins decreased 25 percent from the week before when 12 incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where each occurred.

6 Burglaries

Hoʻolehua:

  • Sunday, Dec. 20, 8:17 a.m.: 3800 block of Keonelele, Hoʻolehua. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kaunakakai:

  • Friday, Dec. 25, 8:18 p.m.: 400 block of Maunaloa Hwy., Kaunakakai. Residential, forced entry,

  • Thursday, Dec. 24, 10:18 a.m.: 675 Wharf St., Lahaina at Lahaina harbor. Non-residential, forced entry.

Makawao:

  • Monday, Dec. 21, 10:39 a.m.: 1370 Olinda Rd., Makawao. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Pāʻia:

  • Monday, Dec. 21, 9:32 a.m.: 1-100 Kai Pl., Pāʻia. Residential, unlawful entry.

Wailuku:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 22, 11:31 a.m.: 400 block of Waiehu Beach Rd.., Wailuku. Residential, unlawful entry.
