Swell Summary
A series of large north to northwest swells will continue to impact the Hawaiian waters through the week, keeping the surf along exposed north and west facing shores near or above advisory levels. As the large north swell that peaked Sunday moves out, a new, long-period northwest swell will begin to build down the island chain later today through tonight, hold Tuesday, then ease into midweek. The next in the series will arrive and peak Wednesday night into Thursday, then ease into Friday. Surf may exceed warning levels at the peak of this event Thursday before lowering Friday. Although confidence remains low being this far out, a more significant northwest swell could arrive over the weekend, driving surf along exposed north and west facing shores well above warning levels. Surf along east facing shores will remain small each day. Surf along south facing shores may rise slightly by midweek as a small, long-period south-southwest swell arrives and moves through.
