Free Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing in Pukalani, Jan. 22
Drive-through COVID-19 testing returns to Upcountry Maui on Friday, Jan 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center in Pukalani.
Residents do not need to meet any criteria for the free test, but must pre-register at www.minitmed.com/pre-register-maui-covid-19.
“We’re still seeing some effects of holiday parties through community spread,” Mayor Michael Victorino said. “Our greatest concern is asymptomatic folks who may be feeling fine, but can still infect others. This free test is a quick, simple way to put your mind at ease and to protect those close to you.”
Participants must wear a face mask, and are urged to arrive at their scheduled time. Results will be reported on the same day as testing. Minit Medical is administering the program, sponsored by the County of Maui.
Maui County is the state’s only county that offers free testing for residents, and has been since Oct. 16. As of Jan. 14, 2021, this program has deployed 15,859 tests with 332 testing positive for COVID-19. Over the past seven days Maui County’s positivity rate has declined from 3.97 percent to 2.71 percent.
If you have any problem pre-registering, please call (808) 667-6161 ext: 7, for help and more information.
NOTE: Maui County’s free testing cannot be used for the State’s Pre-Travel Testing Program.
