Feb. 3, 1982 – Jan. 16, 2021

Brandon Shane Agbannaoag Malacas, 38, of Lahaina, passed away on Jan. 16, 2021 at his home. He was born on Feb. 3, 1982 in Wailuku, Maui.

Brandon Shane graduated from Lahainaluna High School, class of 2000. He was an Engineer and worked in the maintenance department at Kāʻanapali Beach Club Resort.

He is survived by his wife; Connie Malacas; sons, Anthony (Lizzi) Salvador Jr., Zachary (Jody) Salvador and Jasper Cabaccang; grandchildren, Aveanna and Cruz Salvador; father, Leo Malacas, mother, Elizabeth Malacas; brother, Myron Malacas; maternal grandparents, Severino and Conchita Agbannaoag; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Brandon Shane is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ireneo and Regina Malacas.

A public drive-thru viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at Ballard Family Mortuary. Burial will be private.

Samson Paet

April 5, 1959 – Jan. 3, 2021

Samson Jake Paet, 61, of Wailuku, Maui peacefully passed away on Jan. 3, 2021 at the Hospice Maui Hale. He was born in the Philippines on April 5, 1959 to the late Jorge and Juana Paet.

He is survived by his daughter, Janessa Paet Tamura; sisters, Aida (Flor) Cardenas, Rose Villanueva, Emily DeLeon and his 11 nephews and nieces.

He is predeceased by his parents Jorge and Juana Paet; brothers, Jovito “Ben” Paet and Ernesto Paet.

Services will be held at Norman’s Mortuary.

Shirley Kanamu

May 5, 1939 – Dec. 26, 2020

Shirley Shizue Kanamu, 81, of Wailuku, Maui peacefully passed away on Dec. 26, 2020. She was born in Waimea, Kauaʻi on May 5, 1939 to Tamekichi and Yoshiko Takeuchi.

She is survived by her children, Gaylen (Velma) Kanamu, Leslie (Lori) Kanamu Jr., Shirles (Hanale) Inciong, Alexis (Cal) Keau, Travis (Rhonda) Kanamu and Brandon (Tisha) Kanamu; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband Leslie Kanamu Sr.; parents, Tamekichi and Yoshiko Takeuchi; and brothers, Shigeo Takeuchi, Taka Takeuchi and Ben Takeuchi.

Family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the support and care received from the staff of Islands Hospice and Mary Jane.

A memorial service will be held at Norman’s Mortuary. Please contact the family for service information.
