Maui Crime Jan. 24 – 30, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 6 burglaries, 11 vehicle thefts and 13 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Jan. 24 – 30, 2021.

Cases of burglary decreased 40 percent from the week before when 10 incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 50 percent from the week before when 22 incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins decreased 55 percent from the week before when 29 incidents were reported.

6 Burglaries

Haʻikū:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 7:25 a.m.: 600 block of Kauaheahe Place, Haʻikū. Residential, forced entry.

Kāʻanapali:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 10:26 a.m.: 200 Nohea Kai Drive, Kāʻanapali at Hyatt Regency. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Kahului:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 8:49 a.m.: 4655 Kamehameha Ave., Kahului at Central Maui Sports Complex. Non-residential, forced entry.

Nāpili:

  • Friday, Jan. 29, 11:56 p.m.: 4910 Honoapiʻilani Highway, Nāpili at Maui Preparatory Academy. Non-residential, attempted burglary.

Wailuku:

  • Monday, Jan. 25, 3:55 p.m.: 195 Waimaluhia Lane, Wailuku at Hale Makana O Waiʻale Office. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, 6:53 a.m.: 11 Laʻa St., Wailuku. Non-residential, forced entry.
