Maui Job Corps Center Honors Top Employees
The Maui Job Corps Center recently honored top employees through its Celebrating Excellence awards program that selects recipients based on impact, character, leadership and years of service.
Job Corps is a national program that offers underserved youth a set of diverse academic opportunities and career pathways tailored to meet the needs of business and industry. Each year, Job Corps gives tens of thousands of youth a second chance to complete their education and advance into careers, higher education or the military.
In a year of of chaos and struggle, these employees went above and beyond their normal duties to provide exceptional services to the young adults of the Maui Job Corps Center.
Social Development Employee of the Year: Rosetina Rowa
Rowa is Job Corps alumni and was recently promoted to the Social Development Secretary. As an alumni, she is an outstanding role model for current students. Rowa returned to the center in a staff capacity 11 years ago.
Support Services Employee of the Year: Laurene Magee
Magee is the Dental and Administrative Assistant in the Health and Wellness Department. She demonstrates a strong work ethic and always is willing to support her co-workers. She has been at the center for three years.
OA/CTS Employee of the Year: James Cusick
James is an Admission Counselor at the center. He joined the team 2 years ago and has done an outstanding job of promoting the program to the local youth and organizations who serve 16-24 year olds.
