Florida Woman Suffers Multiple Traumatic Injuries in Fall at Kaihalulu in East Maui

A 69-year-old Florida woman suffered multiple traumatic injuries in a fall at Kaihalulu in East Maui on Thursday morning.

The incident was reported at around 11:36 a.m. in the area often referred to as “Red Sand Beach” in Hāna.

Fire officials say the woman fell approximately 15 feet off the trail.

The department’s Air-1 helicopter was utilized to airlift the woman to Hāna Ballpark for awaiting Medics. The woman
was then taken by Maui Medevac to Maui Memorial Medical Center in serious condition.

Responding units included Engine 7 from Hāna, and Rescue 10 aboard Air 1 out of Kahului.
