Maui United Way Announces Addition of Shanda Vangas to its Board of Directors
Maui United Way announced the addition of Shanda Vangas to its Board of Directors.
Vangas served on the MUW Community Impact Grant Review Committee in 2020 and is the Founder and Principal of Fourth Wave Strategies, LLC, a boutique corporate responsibility and social impact consulting firm. The firm advises businesses, foundations, and nonprofit organizations on strategy, communications, and execution to achieve measurable results in the community and within their organizations.
“She is a passionate and strategic leader with more than 25 years of experience working to address critical social issues through the private, nonprofit, and public sectors. Having served as an in-house CSR leader in corporations, a nonprofit fundraising, and marketing executive, a consultant, and an educator on CSR and nonprofit management best practices, Shanda brings a unique perspective to social impact that is authentic, inclusive, collaborative, and results-oriented,” according to a MUW announcement.
“While new to the Maui United Way board, Shanda has extensive experience with the United Way movement. She led a corporate campaign that raised more than a million dollars annually for United Ways across Colorado and served on the Emerging Leaders Council of Mile High United Way. Maui United Way believes that Shanda will add value to its mission and contribute to its efforts to collect and analyze data to better understand the current and emerging needs of our community,” according to the MUW press release.
Nicholas Winfrey, President, and CPO said, “We’re incredibly grateful for Shanda and all of our board members and the expertise, passion, and commitment they add to Maui United Way. Their pledge of ‘doing more good’ goes a long way and we’re excited to see how we can utilize our resources to accomplish more together.”
Vangas said, ”It is a privilege to be invited to serve on the Maui United Way board of directors. The organization plays a critical role in our community. I look forward to working with my fellow board members, the staff, and volunteers to do more good in Maui County.”
For over 75 years, Maui United Way has been working to motivate people to help others, increase resources to meet needs, and inspire solutions to community problems. Last year, MUW provided more than 28,000 services to those in need through the vital work of their 39 partner agency programs.
