Maui Crime to Oct. 10-16, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to seven burglaries, 11 vehicle thefts and 14 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Oct. 10 to 16, 2021.

The percentage of burglary cases neither increased nor decreased from the week before when seven incidents were also reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 15% from the week before when 13 incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins increased -75% from the week before when eight incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where each occurred.

7 Burglaries

Hāna:

  • Oct. 11, 2021, 1:20 p.m.: Waikoloa Road., Hāna. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kahului:

  • Oct. 10, 2021, 11:27 a.m.: 717 Iluna Place, Kahului. Non-residential, forced entry.

Nāpili:

  • Oct. 12, 2021, 6:23 p.m.: 4405 Honoapiʻilani Highway, Nāpili at Kahana Gateway Center. Non-residential, forced entry.

Waiehu:

  • Oct. 14, 2021, 11:39 a.m.: 1360 Hiʻahiʻa St., Waiehu. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Wailea:

  • Oct. 11, 2021, 2:16 p.m.: 5400 Makena Alanui Road, Wailea. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Oct. 15, 2021, 8:09 a.m.: 5400 Makena Alanui Road, Wailea. Non-residential, forced entry.

Kahului:

  • Oct. 12, 9:18 p.m.: 6 Puʻunēnē Ave., Kahului at Burger King. Toyota Tacoma, grey.

Kīhei:

  • Oct. 14, 8:42 a.m.: Līpoa Place / Uluniu Road, Kīhei. Honda CRV, light blue.
  • Oct. 15, 11:48 a.m.: 100 block of North Kīhei Road, Kīhei. Toyota Tacoma, white.

Lahaina:

  • Oct. 10, 7:14 p.m.: 505 Front St., Lahaina at Front St. Shops. Dodge Caravan, red.
  • Oct. 14, 10:11 p.m.: 525 Front St., Lahaina at Kamehameha Iki Park. Honda Civic, grey.

Māʻalaea:

  • Oct. 12, 8:36 p.m.: 11 Māʻalaea Boat Harbor Road, Māʻalaea at Māʻalaea Harbor. Nissan X-terra, black.

  • Oct. 15, 5 a.m.: 800 block of Kokomo Road, Haʻikū. Tesla Model 3, black.
